WHY MEDITATE?
Have you heard that Meditation is good for you? Yes, is good for everyone but why? Today, meditation is a very common topic of study in many important research centers like Harvard University or the MIT, and the scientific community is giving us more and more reasons to develop a regular practice.
Here, I’m trying to make a little summary of the benefits of this practice in the physical, mental and emotional fields.
PHYSICAL BENEFITS
Decreases blood pressure and hypertension
Lower cholesterol levels
More efficient oxygen use by the body
Increases production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA
Decreases tension-related pain, such as tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems
Enhances the immune system and Increases energy levels

Increases mental strength and focus
Increases memory retention and recall
Better decision making and problem solving
Better cognitive skills and creative thinking
Helps manage ADHD
EMOTIONAL BENEFITS
Improves emotional stability
Enhances self-esteem and self-acceptance
Lessens worry, anxiety and impulsivity
Lessens stress, fear and depression
Improves resilience against pain and adversity
Increases optimism, relaxation and awareness
Improves mood and emotional intelligence
