3 COMMONS MEDITATION MYTHS
Some people still think that meditation is a very difficult practice that is only for the chosen ones, like monks or gurus, but the truth is that meditation is as easy as you want to make it.
These are three common misconceptions about mediation.
MYTH #1: “I CAN’T MEDITATE; MY MIND WON’T STOP.”
This is actually one of the reasons why we practice meditation. Meditation helps us to improve our ability to focus and maintain our awareness in one thing at a time. If you have a very busy mind, you are the perfect candidate to practice meditation, the only thing that you need is to find one practice that resonates with you.
MYTH #2: “ONLY CALM AND PATIENT PEOPLE CAN MEDITATE.”
Calm and patience are not prerequisites to practice meditation, however they can be a result of a regular practice as well as focus, optimism, relaxation or awareness.
MYTH #3: “MEDITATION IS DIFFICULT AND TIME-CONSUMING.”
In our modern life we have so many activities that is logical to think that adding one more variable to the equation will result in a complete chaos, but you don’t need one hour of meditation a day to experience its benefits. Moreover, you don’t need any special equipment or accessories. Actually just a few minutes of mindful breathing can do a big difference in your day.
